About this tool

The Creative Archetype Assessment maps a practitioner across three orthogonal axes: form (minimal or maximal), posture (solitary or collective), and timeline (ancient or future). Twelve binary questions resolve each axis. The output is one of eight archetypes, each a recognizable working pattern observed in the Nonesuch Index.

The archetypes are descriptive, not prescriptive. A creative can sit in one archetype for a decade and migrate to another as the practice matures. The assessment is most useful taken once a year. The result is a working lens, not a sentence. It is also a recommendation engine: each archetype links to three Nonesuch Index entries that embody the pattern at scale.

Questions

How long does the assessment take?
Under three minutes. Twelve binary questions. No signup. No email capture.
How accurate is the archetype result?
The axes are diagnostic of working posture, not identity. Most practitioners recognize the result as a fair reading of their current practice.
Can I retake it later?
Yes. The assessment is designed to be retaken yearly. Creative practice shifts. The archetype often shifts with it.
What happens to my answers?
Nothing. The assessment runs entirely in your browser. No data is stored on Nonesuch servers. No third-party analytics.
How are the reference creatives chosen?
Each archetype links to three Nonesuch Index entries whose practice matches the pattern on all three axes, based on primary sources, interviews, and catalog analysis.
